Meridian Bike Bug

Welcome to Meridian Bike Bugs women’s cycling team

Meridian Bikebug is an Australian registered UCI Women’s Continental Team. Founded in 2021 as an U19 squad, the organisation is focussed on providing support for emerging Oceanian cycling talent. We represent the hundreds of thousands of women who cycle in Australia and New Zealand with a team of athletes who are determined to progress in the sport. The Meridian Bikebug pathway includes a full summer of cycling in Australia with a focus on ProVelo Super League as preparation for a complete European campaign. From our Belgian base near Ghent we will race some of the biggest races in Europe and support athlete development in the home of cycling.

OUR GOAL

We work to create opportunities for women to develop their impact in the sport of cycling. We have lowered the barriers to progression and have a program that allows women who race bikes to develop at their pace. By focusing on the whole-of-person development we are not defined by our latest race results, but by the progress we have made. What is important to Meridian Bikebug is the personal growth that comes from facing into the challenges that our sport provides. We benefit from working in a team of exceptional humans who choose this path.
