Q Tour | SumUp Men's Race Recap

An aggressive start to the men’s race saw riders from all teams making a strong to bid to find a place in the break of the day. It took over an hour of attacks for a move to finally establish a lead and cause the peloton to settle into a steady rhythm behind.
A group of 14 riders extended the gap to just shy of one minute over the Brennan led peloton. With fast finisher Liam Walsh (CCACHE X BODYWRAP) making it into the front group, the group started to look at other ways to get to the finish first and the attacks came thick and fast from the leaders.
Tynan Shannon (Team Royal Bikes) and Elliot Schultz (Cobra9 X Leigh Surveyors) managed to get away and quickly established a handy gap coming into the finish. With much anticipation on the two up sprint on a fast tailwind run in, Schultz took to the front early to lead it out. He held steady before Shannon came aroud with impressive speed 100m from the line to take his first ProVelo Super League win after a number of close calls.
