SBS to broadcast ProVelo Super League in 2025!
SBS will broadcast the launch season of the ProVelo Super League (PSL) live, providing Australian cycling fans with extensive coverage of the country’s new road cycling league. As Australia’s home of cycling, SBS will deliver a comprehensive viewing experience for audiences throughout the PSL’s debut season.
Cycling fans will be able to watch the ‘Road to the World Tour’ live free to air on SBS, SBS VICELAND, and SBS On Demand. Replays, extensive highlights and behind-the-scenes content will be available on SBS On Demand and ProVelo Super League digital channels.
The driving ambition behind the ProVelo Super League was to create a platform to showcase our emerging and elite riders ‘live’ as they develop on the Australian racing circuit before progressing to the world stage.
PSL Founder Matt Wilson said “This is an important milestone for the PSL. We committed to creating a season format that would be attractive to broadcasters, allow us to build a narrative that will be engaging for cycling fans and we genuinely believe sport fans more broadly will enjoy watching live PSL action across the Australian summer.
“We’re committed to doing things differently, adding new elements and features to the broadcast product that we believe sport fans will enjoy and we really want to support the profile development of our up-and-coming stars as they prepare for bigger goals on the world stage.”
Wilson added “with Jacyo AlUla and Liv AlUla WorldTour stagiaire and development team contracts on the line for the men’s and women’s winner of the Under 23 category, the racing is going to be super competitive with the raised stakes which will make for an exciting and very engaging broadcast product as our young Aussie’s compete against international riders for a WorldTour opportunity”.

The inaugural PSL Season will commence in January 2025 and conclude in Queensland in late March. Following the announcement earlier this week of the all-new Harbour City GP event to be hosted in Sydney on March 7 – 9, further PSL event announcements will be made in coming days.
About ProVelo Super League:
ProVelo Super League (PSL) is an annual road cycling league hosted across Australia with teams and athletes competing in a points format launching in 2025. The PSL will feature an elite women’s and men’s division with a target of 30 teams anticipated to compete in Season 1 of the PSL.
The PSL calendar will feature a combination of three day tours and Australia’s 2 classic one day races. Hosted across January to March, events will take place across Australia. ProVelo Super League will act as a valuable pathway for athletes looking to pursue the ‘Road to the World Tour’.
In partnership with Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla WorldTour Teams the winners of the Under 23 PSL Divisions will secure their ticket to the WorldTour
The league is open to international teams with a long-term target of attracting Australasian and Asian teams that can base themselves here for the duration of the competition period. In the medium term, PSL will seek event expansion into new territories including other States & Territories and the Asia region. The ProVelo Super League is proudly sanctioned by AusCycling.
