Ava Robbins entered once again as the stand-out favourite, having scooped up each of the intermediate sprints and the stage win yesterday in Cronulla. She was given a solid challenge by Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club's Juno Smith and X-Speed United's Ava Gidget Rogers, but managed to hold steady and take her second stage of the Harbour City GP, wrapping up her second overall win in the process.
The men's race was animated by Bailey McGarry and Beau Mullins throughout, each trying to claw back time on race leader Joshua Moore. Moore remained composed while forced to close down numerous gaps to riders threatening his lead. He held steady to set up a bunch finish, which was very nearly thwarted by a strong move from Mullins, who rounded the final corner with a small advantage. Moore managed to time his run perfectly, passing Mullins just before the line to take the stage and the overall ahead of Mullins and Bryn McDonnell.
With his third place overall here and a strong performance in Adelaide for Round 1, McDonnell will don the League leaders jersey for his home round at the Q-Tour in two weeks time.
