Q TOUR | Stage 1 SumUp Men's League Recap
An aggressive start saw riders attacking non-stop while looking for a place in the days breakaway. Liam Walsh (CCACHE X BODYWRAP) took a solo flyer before a seven rider breakaway formed shortly after the first intermediate sprint.
Driven by Elliot Schultz (Cobra9 X Leigh Surveyors), Scott Bowden (Tasmanian Institute of Sport), Brent Rees (Tandem Co Pro Cycling) and the CCACHE X BODYWRAP duo of Cam Scott and Liam Walsh, it was a strong group that formed out front.
This group quickly established a gap, working well to hold the gap steady at 20 seconds over the Brennan led peloton. With the pace so high at the front, we saw few attacks from the breakaway, setting up a sprint from the breakaway. Cam Scott delivered on his favourite status, flying home to take a commanding win ahead of team-mate Liam Walsh and Scott Bowden.
