The men’s race started on wet roads, which added additional pressure to the peloton as they traversed the twisty circuit around the Moreton Bay Hinterland. A number of crashes on the first lap did little to temper the nerves of the riders ahead of a difficult final stage.

Let's Go Motorhomes Men's League

Lucas Stevenson (VIS p/b K.O.M.P) went up the road in the early breakaway on lap one of six, establishing a lead of over a minute over the rapidly diminishing peloton. With his time out the front, Stevenson collected maximum points in the mountains classification, while Team Brennan_ managed to gap behind.

Stevenson was reeled in as the peloton came into the final lap, with a showdown set to take place on the final climb up to the finish. As the lead group of 15 riders hit the base of the climb, Oliver Sims, riding for the Brisbane based Cobra9 x Leigh Surveyors team went on the charge. He pushed ahead with a strong attack, while the group struggled to respond. Storming up the final climb, Sims extended his lead to one minute and moved into the provisional GC lead on the road.

The field behind was unable to respond to Sims incredible pace and he took a well earned solo victory in his team’s home round, with his winning margin enough to secure the overall win in front of an animated crowd. Levi Hone and Oliver Bleddyn (Team Brennan_) led the main group home and rounded out both the stage and overall podium.

With second overall here, Brennan’s Oliver Bleddyn secured the overall win in the Let’s Go Motorhomes Men’s League for 2026 after an impressive season.
