Navigating the steep uphill bends of the Zig Zag track proved challenging for many and showed that even a short effort can make for a tricky start to a tour known for brutal road stages and mountain top finishes.

Round 2 of the Hertz ProVelo Super League saw the riders head to sunny Launceston for the start of the Tour of Tasmania where things kicked off with a 600m Prologue in the heart of town.

In the men's league Cameron Ivory set a blistering pace early on, trying to win yet another Tour of Tasmania prologue on this exact course.

He was sweating in the hot seat as we saw Connor Wright, Australian representative on the mountain bike, take to the start line. Flying through the hairpin bends he looked set to step into the lead but it wasn't quite enough, settling for second behind Ivory.

Graeme Frislie showed that sprinters can still make an impression on an uphill drag, holding a ferocious pace from bottom to top to nab the final step on the podium, only a few second behind Ivory's time of 1:18

Oliver Sims was the best of the GC contenders, showing he's in red-hot form after his stage win at the SA Kick It in round 1 and cementing his place a race favourite coming into the Tour
