Q Tour | Stage 4 Queen's Stage SBS Women's League Highlights

The final stage of the inaugural Pro Velo Super League didn’t disappoint with an aggressive race finishing up the now iconic Campbell’s Pocket climb.

The breakaway of the day formed through the middle of the circuits around the Moreton Bay hinterland containing Mia Williams (Meridian Blue Cycling p/b 99 Bikes), Karla Bell (McLardy McShane Cycling Team) and Abby Mclain (Women’s Cycling Development Initiative).

They were reeled in heading into the final climb of the day, with a steep climbing showdown to decide the general classification. GC leader at the start of the day Lauren Bates (Meridian Blue Cycling p/b 99 Bikes) was determined to hold onto the front group as the field exploded on the lower slopes of the climb.

It wasn’t to be as Talia Appleton (Praties Cycling Team) launched on the steepest part of the climb, immediately opening a gap. Alli Anderson (Butterfields Ziptrak Racing) chased behind but couldn’t close the gap. Appleton took a stunning win, collapsing after the finish line ahead of Anderson who secured the GC, and  Sophia Sammons (Praties Cycling Team) in third.
