Squadron Energy Inverell Circuit | Lets Go Motorhomes Men's Highlights
The men's event started off full throttle as every major team tried to land a rider in the break of the day. The fast and flowing Lake Inverell circuit made it challenging to get away, but eventually the relentless attacking proved fruitful for a group of seven who pushed ahead.
With almost every major team represented with a strong contender, the chatter on the sideline suggested this group may go the distance. Things looked good for the break as their advantaged extended to over a minute at the half way point.
Dylan Proctor-Parker (RCA BikesOnline) and Matson McAdam (McCarthy Homes QCF) stepped away from the break and held a steady lead of around 10 seconds, before McAdam dropped back to the break, leaving Proctor-Parker solo in the finale.
Proctor-Parker rode superbly and looked like he might get away with it before a final lap burner by Australian road champion Pat Eddy brought his lead to a close with half a lap to go. Eddy came straight past Proctor-Parker to take a strong solo win after a rapid finish. Proctor-Parker held on to take a valiant second place while Oscar Gallagher (CCACHE X BODYWRAP) took out the sprint from the break behind for third.
