League Update - Leaders Face One Last Test in Final Round
With one round remaining in the Hertz ProVelo Super League, the standings are beginning to take shape, but the season finale at the Q Tour still has the potential to deliver a few twists.
SBS Women’s League
Sophia Sammons (Team Redcat) will carry the League leaders jersey into the final round once again, having held the top position since stepping into the lead after Round 2.
Her consistency has been the defining feature of the season. While others have claimed individual stage wins, Sammons has repeatedly placed herself at the front of the race, steadily building a points buffer that now places her in a strong position heading into the finale.
With her closest rival for the overall title, Sophie Edwards (Butterfields Ziptrak Racing), absent from the Kennards Hire Mt Mitchell to Inverell, Sammons arrives at the final round with a handy cushion in the standings. She also holds an unassailable lead in the U23 classification.
The Q Tour provides a fitting stage for the season’s conclusion, with a demanding final stage circuit through the Moreton Bay hinterland that favours strong climbers. On paper, it’s a course well suited to Sammons’ strengths.
Edwards remains second overall, 75 points behind. To challenge for the title she would likely need multiple stage wins alongside a strong general classification result. A difficult task, but not entirely out of reach for one of the league’s most accomplished riders.
Let’s Go Motorhomes Men’s League
The Let’s Go Motorhomes Men’s League has followed a similar pattern, with Oliver Bleddyn (Team Brennan_) emerging as the most consistent performer across the season.
A demanding edition of the Squadron Energy Grafton to Inverell didn’t deliver the result Team Brennan_ may have hoped for, but their leaders still finished well inside the top ten. Levi Hone crossed the line in fourth, with Bleddyn following in eighth.
Those results were enough to keep both riders firmly positioned in the overall standings, with Hone sitting second and Bleddyn maintaining his hold on the League lead.
Behind them, Finn Walsh (CCACHE x BODYWRAP) moved into third overall following his victory in Inverell and will start the final round on home roads with strong form on his side. Cobra9 x Leigh Surveyors’ Oliver Sims sits just behind, keeping the battle for the final podium position alive.
Bleddyn enters the Q Tour with the advantage and, given his recent form, will start as the clear favourite to secure the overall title.
